Amin Sorour

Director - HR, Egyptian Banking Institute

Amin stands at the forefront of the fast-changing Organization Development & Human Resources development sector, known for his tireless work ethic and hands-on approach to organization and people development, whilst putting digital and systemic thinking as key must-have competencies for successful HR and organizational leadership in today’s hyperconnected complex world. Amin currently works as Director of Human Resources at the Egyptian Banking Institute (the training arm of the Central Bank of Egypt), bringing up more than 17 years of experience in the Higher Education and Pharmaceutical industries with both regional and global experiences as he was appointed the Regional HR Manager for the Middle East and North Africa for an international pharmaceutical company, whilst being assigned a global project to implement a modern and agile performance management system across overseas sales offices. Amin’s regional role for the past 4 years followed more than 11 years of leading the organization development and people L&D departments at MSA University as Senior Manager for People & Organisation Development. He is fortunate to lead several organization-wide transformational projects, in addition to leading the university corporate business services division and establishing the Organization development function bottom up.

Amin is a strong advocate of strength-based practices besides fostering autonomy, agile coaching and collaborative intelligence as key drivers of organizational growth and strong enablers of human performance, and wellbeing. As an HR professional, Amin insists on ensuring well-educated practices have been put to the test, making learning & development for himself and his colleagues a priority that pushes their limits and helps them always stay away from their comfort zone, bolstered by a strong education journey from studying pharmacy as his bachelor degree before nurturing his passion in HR through studying the HR Management Post-graduate diploma then the Executive Management diploma at the American University in Cairo, whilst being a certified international professional manager from the American Certification Institute, USA, and reaching the final stage of his Master’s degree in Psychology at the University of Liverpool John Moores, the UK with an intentional focus on Organisational and Positive psychology.
